With over 7 years of experience performing in bars, nightclubs, rooftop parties, house gatherings, and large-scale events, Yiğit Sönmez has played for crowds ranging from intimate 50-person settings to events hosting up to 2,000 people. He tailors his sets to match the energy and atmosphere of each event, whether it’s a high-energy club night, a private event, or an open-format lounge setting.
As an Istanbul-raised DJ now based in Brooklyn, his sound is deeply influenced by the European electronic music culture, infused with progressive house, melodic house, deep house, and dance pop to create emotionally charged, richly melodic, and vocal-driven experiences. While his primary focus is on progressive club sounds, he is also experienced in open-format DJing, mixing hip-hop, rap, dance classics, and upbeat pop to match any event’s energy.

Community Projects
Beyond performing, Yiğit Sönmez has contributed to the electronic music scene through community-driven initiatives:
As the president of the collective, he played a key role in bringing world-renowned producers like Armin Van Buuren, Oliver Heldens, Paul Van Dyk, MEDUZA, and Cheat Codes to Harvard University for lectures and Q&A sessions focused on music production and the business side of the industry.
Yiğit also co-founded Harvard Reverb, the university’s first underground electronic music collective, to provide performance opportunities for up-and-coming DJs and electronic musicians. Reverb was created to make Harvard’s exclusive party scene more accessible and inclusive, giving students an open space to connect through music, experience high-quality DJ sets, and build a thriving community of music lovers and artists. The collective hosts underground events, supports emerging DJs, and fosters a growing scene of electronic music enthusiasts on campus.
